These materials should enable an instructor to teach and assess a complete, high school level unit of study on C.S. Lewis' The Four Loves. Includes the following:
- 2 Comprehensive tests covering the entirety of The Four Loves (The first test covers chapters 1-4. The second covers chapters 5 and 6.) Answer keys are included. Each test consists of 40 multiple choice questions (30 on comprehension, 10 on vocabulary). The vocabulary questions are on a separate page, so they can be left out if a test on purely comprehension is desired. These tests are available as printable word documents OR as interactive google forms. The google form versions of the tests have built in answer keys, allowing for instant feedback on right or wrong answers.
- 16 study questions (2 or 3 for each chapter) to stimulate discussion and personal application of the book. These questions have been designed to draw students into a deeper understanding of the topics covered in The Four Loves, while also encouraging them to make personal applications from the text to their own lives. An answer key is included, but the length and quality of the required answers can be determined by the individual teacher. Teachers may also wish to use some of the more challenging questions as individual writing assignments or as essay questions for the tests.
- 33 high school level vocabulary words. A table is included which shows each word, its part of speech, its definition, and the specific chapter it occurs in. Since not all the words occur on the tests, the Excel file also includes a column indicating which words are on the tests and which are not. (You may wish to hide this column if you print out this document for students study).
